The Ghana Stock Exchange is urging telecom operators and mining firms to list on the bourse.
This according to the Stock Exchange will pave way for the public to participate in the fortunes of these companies.
Managing Director of the Ghana Stock Exchange, Kofi Yamoah, made the call in an interview with Gold Business after a press briefing on the 2013 performance of the stock exchange and the outlook for 2014.
“The best test of corporate social responsibility is for the companies that are doing well to share their fortunes with the investing public in Ghana,” he said.
Kofi Yamoah disclosed that the two major mining companies namely; Newmont and Goldfields are not listed on the stock market.
He is therefore imploring the telecoms and mining companies to list on the stock market.
