Ghana’s Hepthatlete queen Margaret Simpson has pulled out of the Olympic Games after prognosis showed she had an Acute Kidney Infection.
The 29-year-old was expected to compete in four events including the 100m hurdles, Javelin, Short Put and the high jump today but after diagnoses from Ghana’s medical team yesterday Simpson was declared unfit for the entire duration of the Olympic Games.
Margaret Simpson becomes the second casualty on team Ghana’s injury list after heavyweight boxer Maxwell Amponsah withdrew from the games last week on medical reasons.
Simpson has been on Antibiotics ever since she complained of the injury three weeks ago in Plymouth, London.
Ghana’s hope of winning a medal lies in Long Jumper Ignatius Gaisah, Sprinter Vida Anim, and Flyweight boxer Duke Micah and Weight Lifter, Alberta Ampomah Boatemaa.
