Ghana’s quest to win medal at the ongoing 30th edition of the Olympic Games is in doubt following Flyweight boxer, Sulemana Tetteh’s loss to his Puerto Rican opponent yesterday.
Tetteh lost by 6-20 points to Ortiz Marcano Jantony making him the second Ghanaian boxer to be eliminated from the competition after Isaac Dogbe lost to Japanese Satoshi Shimizu in the Bantamweight division last Saturday.
Ghana’s hopes now lie in Flyweight fighter, Duke Akwete Micah who defeated Jason Lavigilante of Mauritius in his opening fight by 18-14 points on Monday.
Duke Micah will take on Ivoirian boxer; Conlan Michael on Friday in the round of 16. Earlier, heavyweight boxer Maxwell Amponsah was declared unfit by medical doctors and so missed out on his quest to achieve success in the Olympic Games.
