Presidential candidate of the Convention People’s Party (CPP) Dr. Foster Abu Sakara has outline measures to address the numerous economic challenges facing the country.
According to him, the CPP government will present fundamental solutions to the economiy by creating job opportuinites for the youth and increasing living wages that will sustain cost of living.
Dr. Abu Sakara said these at a durbar of chiefs in the eastern region as part of his regional tour to canvass for votes in the Decemcer 7 general election.
In an interview with Gold News, Dr. Abu Sakara noted that tackling the fundamental problems of the economy is essential.
He said, “we find ourselves in an economy which has grown from a self-reliant economy to a dependent economy subsidised by donor grants. This is the fundamental problem we are facing. Without ratifying them, we will not be able to create the additional wealth and income we want”.
Dr Sakara further stressed on his commitment for the educational and agricultural sector of the economy, adding that the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) candiadates who failed in their exams will be prepared for other opportunities.
He disclosed that “we want to ensure that we have srategic investment in the various agro-ecological zones with government playing a significant role and holding an equity share of up to 70 percent”.
