President Mahama refused to be drawn into NPP’s old fashioned politics-Ablakwa

The Deputy Minister of Information, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has described as old fashioned the politics practiced by the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP).

He said this on Radio Gold’s current affairs programe Alhaji and Alhaji on Saturday when he was asked to assess the nations address delivered by President John Dramani Mahama.

He said the “the President chose this opportunity to rally this nation to remain united and make an appeal to the youth to believe in themselves and contribute their intellect to the development of the country”.

Mr. Okudzeto Ablakwa also noted that one of the legacies of late President Mills is how he did not allow politics to influence his conducts as president.

He said “the President spoke at a time when the whole country came together as one to bury President Mills. The speech delivered by President Mahama will go into the history books”.

Mr. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa further indicated that “I am happy that the President refused to be drawn into the NPP’s old fashioned politics. I will urge the National Democratic Congress (NDC) members not to pay attention to the NPP. If they want to stay in the gutters leave them”.
