The United Renaissance Party (URP) will on Saturday August 11 go to Congress to elect party executives for the Greater Accra Regional Branch of the party.
According to the Acting General Secretary of URP, Francis Sowah, the congress will afford the entire members of the party in the region the opportunity to come together to deliberate on issues related to the development and victory of the party in the December Polls.
In an interview with Gold News, the acting General Secretary of the URP said similar congresses have been organized in three regions so far and the rest will soon follow suit.
He noted that “this is to build our party structure from the top to the bottom through the regional congress”.
He also indicated that the strategies and plans are aimed at winning the 2012 elections adding that “we believe in democracy and the supremacy of the constitution hence the need to satisfy all the technicalities of the Electoral Commission before the elections”.
Francis Sowah further entreated members of the party to show interest in the parliamentary election and contest on the party’s ticket to advance their electoral fortunes.
