President John Dramani Mahama has charged the road minister to expedite action on ongoing road works in the Western Region.
He said Western Region contributes significantly to the country’s economy thus the need for government to address the region’s developmental concerns.
Addressing the chiefs and people of Tarkwa after a whistle stop in Takoradi market circle and Tarkwa government hospital in his second day of the thank you tour in the Western Region, the president reiterated his government resolves to continue and complete all ongoing projects initiated by the late President Mills.
He indicated that the procurement processes of the Tarkwa-Bogoso and Tarkwa-Aborso roads should be fast tracked by the Ministry of Roads and Highways in order to make the roads motorable.
In response to the President’s call the Roads and Highways Minister Joe Gidisu said his outfit has resolved the initial challenges and work on the roads is on course.
Some residents in the Western region who were present to see the president told Gold News they believe President Mahama will deliver on the better Ghana agenda.
