Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Investment Fund for Electronic Communication (GIFEC), Kofi Attor has described his experience at the Banquet Hall of the State House as he filed past the late president Mills as a difficult and emotional one.
The funeral of the late president began on Wednesday August 8 with the laying in state of the remains of the late president Mills.
Speaking on Gold Power Drive on Thursday, Mr. Kofi Attor stated that the remains of the late president reminded him of his last encounter with the president adding that “those of us who were already sad before entering the Banquet Hall of the State House did not realize that he was giving us a message of peace”.
He also reechoed the religious principle of the late president noting that “when he was alive, before he chaired any meeting, he will pray with us before the meeting begins”.
Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Investment Fund for Electronic Communication (GIFEC), Kofi Attor further emphasized that “GIFEC was mandated to extend Information Communication Technology (ICT) to rural and deprived areas in the country. He paid attention to what the fund is used for by ensuring that the then vice president Mahama monitored the fund”.
According to him, the people of the Central Region especially Ekumfi Otuam where he hails from will forever remember the late president for his contribution to the development of the region adding that “he built a communication centre for the Ekumfi Otuam community which is one of the monuments he left in the town”.
