Mahama and Amissah- Arthur will be too strong for the NPP in 2012 elections-Sekou Nkrumah

Son of Ghana’s first president Dr. Sekou Nkrumah has said that the combination of President John Dramani Mahama and his Vice Amissah Arthur will give the New Patriotic Party (NPP) a good run for their money in the 2012 general elections.

He said the partnership between the current president and his vice will prove a much difficult task for the opposition NPP party.

Speaking to Gold News, Dr. Sekou Nkrumah indicated that “I think they are both fine gentlemen and they have a strong ticket. I believe in the John Mahama-Amissah ticket. Mahama is liked by members of both the NDC and NPP”.

Expressing his view on the choice of the current Vice president, Dr. Sekou Nkrumah described Mr. Amissah Arthur as a knowledgeable man who distinguished himself well at the vetting by answering very difficult questions and proved that he is a true cadre of the ruling NDC.

He added that “Mr. Amissah conducted himself well yesterday. He showed that he is an economic and financial expert. He has solid credentials”.

He further noted that though President Mahama is liked across the political divide there is the need for him to solve the problems within the NDC.

The ardent critic of the late president Mills, Dr. Sekou Nkrumah advocated for a more radical leadership that is prepared to initiate programs and policies targeted at addressing the concerns and needs of Ghanaians.
