Rana motors to market Dunlop tyres in Ghana

Rana Motors is to market Dunlop tyres in Ghana under a partnership agreement with Dunlop, a subsidiary of Apollo Tyres South Africa (Pty) Ltd.

Dr Luis Ceneviz, Chief Executive Officer of Apollo Tyres, disclosed this at a cocktail party to announce the partnership in Accra at the weekend.

Dr Ceneviz said the partnership had made Rana Motors the sole legitimate distributer of Dunlop tyres in Ghana and that the agreement was reached due to the “Shared values” between the two companies.

“The partnership has been possible because of the “high level of professionalism that Rana motors exhibit in their line of work,” Dr Ceneviz explained.

He said plans were underway to launch the new and dynamic tyre retail and servicing store known as “Dunlop Zone” to the Ghanaian market.

Dunlop Zones are tyre distribution and servicing centres that “feature a dynamic, contemporary performance image and offer motorists a five-star shopping experience – through professional, value-added service, and customer-orientated finishes like comfortable leather seats, hi-tech interactive information systems and coffee stations.

“The Dunlop Zone is an exciting new retail experience created by Dunlop Tyres. Dynamic new Dunlop Zone stores are rolling out countrywide as this premium dealer network becomes more and more popular,” Dr Ceneviz said.

He said the zone would also provide online training to dealers to equip them with the necessary skills as well as enabling Dunlop tyre dealers in the country to “match up to competition with other retailers and provide customer satisfaction."

Dr Ceneviz expressed the hope that with Ghana’s focused market and their strong brand, the partnership would bring Apollo tyres to be rated among the world’s top 10 in four years.

Apollo Tyres South Africa (Pty) Ltd., is a wholly owned subsidiary of Apollo Tyres Limited of India situated in South Africa, whose core business includes manufacturing and distribution of Dunlop tyres in South Africa and other 32 African countries in which Apollo Tyres Ltd owns trademark rights to the Dunlop brand.

The company manufactures high quality tyres for every motoring application with Dunlop as its premium brand.
