Chief Accountant at the Office of the Controller and Accountant General’s Department Gilbert Nyaledzigbor has expressed worry about the public perception that the department will not pay some category of pensioners.
According to the departments’ speculations prevalent in the public domain, indications are that the Controller and Accountant General’s Department will not pay pensioners who did not partake in the Biometric Voters Registration Exercise because their data was not captured.
Speaking to Gold news, Mr. Gilbert Nyaledzigbor indicated that all those who went through the biometric registration exercise have been paid for the month of July adding that his outfit will undertake another biometric registration exercise for those who could not register for the first time.
Some pentioners who registered under the biometric registration had their names ommitted from the payroll which has made it imporssible for them to be paid. Addressing this issue, Mr. Nyaledzigbor urged these category of pentioners to visit regional offices of the Controller and Accountant General’s Department to be paid.
He also adviced pentioners who have not gone through the registration to register in order to revceive their salaries.
