Action Aid Ghana advocates calls for effective planning to curb human rights violation

Action Aid Ghana is calling for decentralization, effective planning and well coordinating institutions in an effort to deal with poverty globally.

The group believes that poverty is a violation of human rights arising from unequal power relations and that a well coordinated and effective planning by stakeholders can bridge the poverty gab.

Communications and Public Relations coordinator of Action Aid, Washington Mawuli Nuworkpor made this known in an interview with Gold News adding that “there has been a structural imbalance in the country”.

“It is about our decisions as duty bearers and right holders to perform our responsibilities in order to make life comfortable for the people”, he stated.

He noted that Action Aid is partnering and supporting the media in a step to fight poverty acknowledging that “the media is the mirror of society which exposes what happens in society”.

Mr. Washington Mawuli Nuworkpor further indicated that “Action Aid believes that well coordinated and training with sections of the media will help to broaden the horizon of the media practitioners to be conscious of the human right implications of issues they report”.
