Nana Akuffo-Addo will make Ghana a cocaine country-Fiifi Kwetey

Deputy Minister of Finance Fiifi Kwetey has implored Ghanaians to reject the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Nana Addo Akuffo Addo adding that he will make the country the gateway to cocaine trade, if voted into power.

Speaking on Gold Power Drive on Tuesday, Mr. Fiifi Kwetey added that “if there is any individual who opened the flood gates of cocaine trade in Ghana, then the person is Nana Akuffo Addo”.

He added that “the first step Nana Addo took as Attorney General and Minister of Justice in the erstwhile Kufour government was to discontinue drug related cases at the law court to pave way for the influx of cocaine”.

Mr. Fiifi Kwetey further noted that “under the NPP’s eight year in government, their Member of Parliament for Nkoranza North was busted on December 11, 2005 in the United States for trafficking heroine. Three NPP women were also caught at the Kotoka International Airport for carrying cocaine”.

According to him, the claim by the NPP that cocaine is not an issue for politics is a way to deceive Ghanaians, adding that “the issue of cocaine is critical in terms of image building abroad”.

In response to this, founder and leader of the United Renaissance Party (URP) Kofi Wayo, indicated that the Deputy Minister of Finance is not insulting Nana Addo, he is doing a character assessment of his “cocaine- being”.

“In September 1999, Former President Kufour told me he was against Nana Addo becoming president of Ghana because of his involvement in drug related issues. We cannot allow this man to vie for the seat of the president”, he added.
